Artist Biography and Statement
Vivian Coleman is a visual artist painting and providing contemporary acrylic abstracts and realistic watercolors to her collectors. Vivian is also a licensed landscape
architect and certified city planner. In April 2021 Vivian retired from a rewarding 30-year career as a city
planner and transportation professional. After retirement, Vivian took a sabbatical of her own and spent the summer of 2021 in Alaska working as tour guide leading sled dog and ATV tours in some of the most beautiful
wilderness she has ever experienced. Vivian loves travel, often taking her
canvas and paint along. She invites you to join her on her journey and enjoy
the vibrant colors and textures her work often includes telling stories that
originate from a life best enjoyed in adventure.
The spirit of
wilderness, the experience of travel and a drive for creativity are Vivian’s
intersection…the dot on the earth where her passion, skills and what the world
needs is found.
With Vivian's love of the outdoors she pursued and earned a Master of Landscape Architecture degree from North Carolina State University. She has put her education to task creating more walkable, bikeable and livable communities through her career.
For over five years,
Vivian has been bringing the natural and built environments to the canvas and
creating pieces that reflect outdoor places, moods and memories through bold
colors and textures. It is what she loves about painting.
Vivian enjoys life with her husband, David, a lover
of all things sci-fi, and with their curious cats, Yuki and Lil' Sebastian.
Vivian would love for you to enjoy a work of art at your home or workplace -
original or a print!
Vivian’s art business is a "Trusted Art Seller"
with The
Art Storefronts Organization.
A great day for an open art studio!
Vivian has been providing art to her collectors for five years and enjoys the process of creating for others to enjoy.
